Local newspapers have reported on proposals to regenerate the Cheriton Road sports ground in conjunction with local sports clubs. The multimillion pound redevelopment will see the provision of a new pavilion to replace the present life-expired building housing bars and changing rooms, and that will accommodate a brand new sports hall providing facilities for all-year round training.

The Trust has funded work by CTM Architects to develop these proposals which are being put foward for planning permission in conjunction with an application to develop the former Westbrook House School site on Shorncliffe Road. Proceeds raised from the sale of this site for housing will be channelled into the development of the Cheriton Road venue. Local residents have welcomed the proposals for Cheriton Road and have been reassured about the improvements that the development will bring in terms of floodlighting and noise.
